Guizhou promotes ecotourism in 5 major cities

Guizhou, Southwest China’s mountainous province, is promoting its ecotourism in five major cities, including Shanghai and Nanjing, from April 9 to 24.

A tourist bus themed “Welcome to take a deep breath in Guizhou” will travel through Wuhan, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Changsha to attract self-driving tourists.

“Guizhou has a major advantage in its ecology and environment,” said Zou Xiaofeng, head of the market development department of the Guizhou Tourism Bureau.

President Xi Jinping expressed his appreciation of Guizhou’s environment in early March, saying the province’s air should be stored in cans.

“We attached great importance to ecology in selecting the scenic spots for this activity, because we hope to impress all tourists with our pristine air,” said Lin Wenqiang, one of the 11 members of the Guizhou Scenic Spots Alliance.

Guizhou saw its tourist numbers grow from 129 million in 2010 to 267 million in 2013.
