Imagination Quartet has given three concerts in China. In the middle of October, the band performed at one of the biggest jazz festivals  OCT-LOFT in Shenzhen, and also at two local festivals in Zhongshan and Guangzhou.

Concerts in China were a beautiful experience. It was just as I imagined before we came there. The audience reacted enthusiastically to our diverse music. New pieces are great – elements of jazz, rock, calm ballades with acoustic guitar or even disco jazz i dubstep. Last, biggest concert in Shenzhen was the best concert in all history of our band. I’m strongly convinced, that we will perform again in China! – says Michał Sołtan, leader of Imagination Quartet.

Imagination Quartet has performed 3 concerts at the South of China: Zhongshan 760 Jazz Festival on 16th, Guangzhou Jazz Festival on 17th and most important – Shenzhen OCT-LOFT International Festival on 18th.   Regarding the reaction of audience, it was a very successful concert. The auditorium was full. It started calmly, but in the end it was more like a rock concert. People were dancing and clapping in the rythm of the music, and guitarist was jumping on the stage without a shirt – said Josef Ho, local journalist and music critic after IQ performance in Shenzhen, where the band played for about 400 people, breaking the attendance record for this year’s festival. Polish artisits’ concerts at the South of China is rather rare.

In the nearest future, Imagination Quartet will perform on November 8th in Warsaw, Jabłkowski Brothers Commodity House (former Traffic Club, 20 Bracka Street). The concert will be a part of the Crowd Festival organized by platform Supporting Culture, in Weimar as a part of Festival “Polish Jazz” on November 15th and on February 21st in Berlin in a cult club Kunstfabrik Schlot. Concerts are a trailer of a new album which will come outin Poland in the end of the year thanks to Anaconda Productions and also in China – in the beginning of next year.
