The university consists of 19 faculties and colleges offers 6 PhD programs, 135 master programs and 71 bachelor programs. The number of its full-time undergraduate students amounts to 25,000 with 4000 in-residency postgraduates, 400 international students and 15400 part-time students.

Economics. 6 programs including Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Aquaculture, English, Computer Science, Law, Physical Education are ranked as the national brand characteristic programs.

Ningbo University has been attaching great attention to the development of international cooperation and exchanges. Up to now, the university has maintained close links and intercollegiate cooperation with almost 80 well-known institutions of higher education in more than 30 countries such as Purdue University (USA), Canberra University, Wollongong University (Australia), University of Montreal (Canada). Ningbo University collaborates various programs with these universities. More than 130 students are sent to overseas universities as exchange students every year.
