Many years of efforts of the University of Gdansk have resulted in  final success. There is a final decision on the establishment of Confucius Institute (CI) at this university. This will be the fifth university in Poland hosting CI.

As part of the agreement with the Headquarters of Confucius Institutes, University of Gdansk  together with the China Youth University of Political Studies, the Institute will be functioning as the inter-organizational unit.

The main objective of CI will be to promote the Chinese language and  culture by making a teaching offer , conducting research and publishing the results, the organization of language courses and cultural events.

The creation of CI is done under the relevant agreements between the University of Gdansk, the Headquarters of Confucius Institutes and the China Youth University of Political Studies.
